The Golden Thread Engine
A record that can prove it has not been altered
A safety record is only worth as much as its credibility years later, when a decision is challenged. That is an engineering problem, and we solved it in the database rather than in the interface.
Append-only by construction
Audit records cannot be edited or deleted once written. Immutability is enforced in the database by trigger and row-level security, not by application convention.
Cryptographic tamper evidence
Each record is hash-chained to its predecessor, so any alteration to history breaks the chain and becomes detectable rather than silent.
WORM anchoring
Chains are periodically anchored to write-once storage on a scheduled basis, establishing that a given record existed in a given state at a given time.
Redaction without rewriting
Personal data can be pseudonymised for display through a separate redaction map, satisfying UK GDPR obligations without mutating the underlying safety record.
